Revuelta was dangerously close to my airbnb, that I ended up swinging by for a bite multiple times during my short stay in Madrid! I would typically stick with their Bacalao, which is what they're known for. Perfectly crispy exterior but soft, flaky interior. The fried pork reminded me of a dish from one of my favorite dive bars back home, so it was great to have a taste of home across the world. Vermouth was also spot on, as expected!
Great atmosphere - try to sit inside and enjoy the food. Should be on the must visit list.
I came here based on the recommendation of James Blick and this was the one of the his recommendations that lived up to expectations for me. When I saw the long line out the door on late Saturday morning, I was disheartened but thankfully the line moved fast. The bacalao (fried salted cod) was unbelievably juicy and delicious! The fried pork belly was also crispy, salty and juicy. This all paired nicely with light beer. It's a fun spot and it the prices are super reasonable!
Súper recomendado! Bacalao was amazing! Boquerones and everything else. It's a must if your visit Madrid
What I wanted to find for true tapas. Only served 5 things, all were great. Pork, tuna empanada and cod stood out. Must try.
SO GOOD!!! After walking around plaza mayor avoid all the crappy restaurants and come here to grab a few plates of Bacalao (fried cod) and croquettes! The waiter we ordered from spoke English and was so helpful with suggestions, everything sounded delicious and if I have been more hungry, I definitely would've tried other things they had. Definitely a must stop on your tapas tour! Tinto de verano here also was delicious, idk if it tasted better, because the food was so good or what, but you gotta order one!
Got takeout from Revuelta and it was maybe the best food we had in Madrid (even wolfing it down in our hotel room cold haha). Pollo en pepitoria, campera and pastas bravas were all amazing! Will definitely dine in here if I'm ever back in Madrid.
Bacalao and croquetas are king here, and for good reason. Crispy tapas, award-winning cañas, and a great atmosphere. Make this one of your bacalao stops when in town.
Soo simply, I love it! Based on the pics and recommendation, I'm guessing the specialty here is their fried bacalau. At 3EU, it is just perfect snack/light meal with a cana! The piece of fried cod is usually done to order...unless they have a fresh one waiting in the window. I don't think the owner spoke English, but communication wasn't an issue. Place with busy with middle-aged locals! To me, this is a good sign!
I ended up coming here just for a quite tapa bite, so I had some beer and the bacalao, which is a piece of fried fish. It was really good and very well made, crispy on the outside and nice and flaky on the inside, but I don't quite get the hype of this place. While good, I've had better fried fish before, and it's not really good enough to merit making my way out to just this place to try. But if I was living in the area and wanted a quick snack, I'd definitely come here to have it, cause it is still good.
